Inkjet-printed graphene electronics.
We demonstrate inkjet printing as a viable method for large-area fabrication of graphene devices. We produce a graphene-based ink by liquid phase exfoliation of graphite in N-methylpyrrolidone. We use it to print thin-film transistors, with mobilities up to ∼95 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1), as well as transparent and conductive patterns, with ∼80% transmittance and ∼30 kΩ/□ sheet resistance. This paves th...
متن کاملGraphene Nano-Ribbon Electronics
We have fabricated graphene nano-ribbon field-effect transistor devices and investigated their electrical properties as a function of ribbon width. Our experiments show that the resistivity of a ribbon increases as its width decreases, indicating the impact of edge states. Analysis of temperature dependent measurements suggests a finite quantum confinement gap opening in narrow ribbons. The ele...
متن کاملEarly development of graphene electronics
Graphene has recently emerged as a material likely to complement or eventually succeed silicon in electronics. From 2001 to 2004, groundbreaking research was pursued behind the scenes at Georgia Tech; various directions were explored, including exfoliation techniques and CVD growth, but epitaxial graphene on silicon carbide emerged as the most viable route. This document provides archival infor...
متن کاملSeparation of metallic and semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotube arrays by "scotch tape".
The dielectrophoretic (DEP) separation of metallic and semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) has been investigated. DEP separation experiments were performed by following the previous reports and the modification of Raman spectra was confirmed. We then theoretically investigated the impact of the flow field on the dielectrophoretic separation. The electrothermal flow was found t...
متن کاملObservation of X-ray Emissions Resulting From Scotch Tape: Final Report
It has been shown that if ordinary scotch tape is unrolled in a vacuum, it will emit x-rays and visible light. The proposed experiment will investigate this property by building a suitable vacuum chamber and observing the x-rays from various tapes, unrolled at different speeds, and under different vacuum conditions. Introduction It has been known since 1953 [1] that scotch tape can emit x-rays ...
